The Clinton County Arts Council cordially invites you to attend the opening reception of this international art exchange, featuring artwork by elementary students in St. Johns and elementary and middle school students from our Friendship City, Konan, which is in Shiga Prefecture in Japan.
Approximately 200 pieces of art will be on display throughout Briggs Public Library, March 27 – April 29. The elementary art teachers involved in this project are Ann Den Herder and Kelly Parsons. In addition to the cross-cultural art display, there will be a group of third- and fourth-grade students from St. Johns singing Japanese folk songs under the direction of vocal music teacher, Shirley Anne Ries. All three teachers put in a great amount of extra effort.
Light refreshments will follow the program. This annual art exhibit is a cooperative effort between Briggs Public Library, the St. Johns School District, students from the National Art Honor Society in Ovid-Elsie, and the St. Johns – Konan Friendship Society under Clinton County Arts Council.
