"Line Nowhere Else" By: M. Elaine Twichell [Click here to print article] The Depot Center for the Arts is pleased to present “Like Nowhere Else” which is an all media exhibit from members of the Clinton County Arts Council. The show will include work from Sue Monroe, who is a well established Watercolorist, and now an illustrator of childrens books. Forged and fabricated steel sculpture from artist-blacksmith Douglas Thayer. Oil, Pastel, and Acrylic paintings from Sylvia Hirschegger, Elaine Twichell, Susan Fernholtz and Tom Tomasek. Hand Crafted baskets made by Jenny Wilcox, and numerous quilted projects from the Clinton Piecemakers quilting group. Glass Art by Helen Nelson and Laura Pulling. Jewelry by Elaine Twichell , April Atkinson and Mary Patterson. Pottery by Linda Ruhle and Penny Tahvonen. Life size wooden sculptures by Buddy Holcomb. And, as they say, Much, Much, More! This show runs from March 28th until April 21st, during normal gallery hours.The Artists Receiption will be held Sunday April 1st from 1:00 – 3:00, which is our normal ” First Sunday Gallery Stop”.Come and tour the historic railcars east of the Depot. The 1926 Ann Arbor Crew Car is filled with railroad memorabilia. The 1902 Barney and Smith Railroad Post Office car will be open for a peek. Restoration has not yet begun on this car. Enjoy refreshments, meet the member artists, and visit the historic Grand Trunk Depot in St. Johns. A cartooning class for kids in 1st thru 8th grades is scheduled for March 31st at the Depot and the cost is $12. Please call the instructor at 989 723 9927 for more Information and to register.
