Last year, Clinton County Arts Council teamed up with Tracie Davis of Whimsical pARTy Gallery and Mary Ablao of Studio Retreat and Gallery to bring downtown St. Johns its first ever "Art Walk." Putting together this event with only 3 weeks preparation, a non-existent budget, and an advertising plan based solely on word-of-mouth and social media, we saw somewhere between 150-200 individuals in attendance and 17 venues showcasing local art.
The overwhelming success of our first art walk encouraged us to partner with the Arts Council of Greater Lansing to bring TWO new events to town titled "Arts Night Out: Paint the Town!" and "Arts Night Out: Chalk It Up!"
This year, we're also expanding! We are increasing the number of venues, reaching out to more artists (including musicians and actors!), and partnering with the Arts Council of Greater Lansing to create our best arts and business collaborative event yet!
Venues are businesses located in the downtown who wish to participate in an "Arts Night Out" event by hosting an artist in their shop during the event. To become a venue, participating businesses must:
- Be located in the downtown area
- Be willing to host an artist
- Fill out all necessary forms
- Have paid the $40 venue fee for their spot by the closing date
Currently, we are unable to feature businesses outside of the downtown as venues. If your business is NOT located downtown and you're bummed to be missing out on this opportunity, let us know! Though we do not currently have the means to work this event beyond one location, you're feedback could be crucial to helping us expand! You may also want to look at our sponsorship opportunities.
Anyone can be a sponsor for our "Arts Night Out" events! Sponsors are our amazing community/business partners who are excited about what we are doing and wish to help fund these events. Venues can also be sponsors, if they wish to go above and beyond!

This is a FREE, public event created to bring arts and cultural awareness to our area through a fun and family-friendly event. This event is also pet-friendly, though not all venues will allow animals into their stores.
