Introduction to Plein air painting

The Clinton County Arts Council will be hosting summer art classes in mid-June! The art program and projects will be instructed by local artist, Amber Steffen.  Classes feature an arts-and-crafts project geared towards teaching children basic art skills and/or crafting techniques.

These projects are perfect for children ages 6-9 and 10-13 years old.

The Clinton County Arts Council offers a variety of classes and workshops designed to promote both the arts and culture.

Summer KIDS Arts PROGRAM 2018

If you are wanting to go paint on location, you will enjoy this class.  Artist, Susan Fernholz will be teaching this three hour class.  

Painting from life is the best way to become a better artist. You will learn the history behind plein air painting, instructions and materials, and the techniques that artists use to bring the landscape to life on your canvas.  This will include an outside demonstration weather permitting.  

Class fee is $30.  Choose from either Saturday, April 21st or the 28th, 9:00-12:00pm  These sessions will be taught at Susan's studio,Artemisia’s Gallery in St. Johns.

This is a great way to get ready to win the St. Johns Plein Air event, May 12th.

Summer Art Kids Program will be held at the St. Johns Train Depot.
