This comedy-drama, set in a small town beauty salon in Louisiana, is alternately hilarious and touching - and, in the end, deeply revealing of the strength and purposefulness which underlies the banter of its six female characters.
The characters are: Truvy, the salon owner; Annelle, her eager new assistant; Miss Clairee, an elegant millionaire; Ouiser, the town's eccentric curmudgeon; and Lynn, the social leader, whose daughter, Shelby is the prettiest girl in town.
St. Johns resident Tom Webb will direct the production.
