Volunteering with the CCAC

The Clinton County Arts Council is always looking for volunteers! Every branch offers different opportunities to suit our volunteers' talents and skills. Read on to see where you fit in the CCAC!

Clinton Northern Railway Museum presents one of the most unique volunteering opportunities in Clinton County. The Railway needs volunteer carpenters and other builders to help renovate and restore railway cars. Most of our current volunteers are retired woodworkers/craftsmen who are contributing to their community by preserving its history while still getting their hands plenty dirty.

The Railroad Museum

The Gallery is always looking for docents. A docent is a person who acts as a sort of guide through the gallery. They learn about our many artists and their art-work, help with curation, office work, and general gallery maintenance. Shifts run from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. There is no minimum for the amount an individual has to volunteer to be considered a docent. Docents/Volunteers must 16+ and have their own means of transportation.

Our process for accepting volunteers is simple. The "interview" is an open discussion to see if your interests will meet-up with our needs. You will have the opportunity to shadow along side a couple other volunteers.
